Stella Downlight | Warm white
The Stella Downlight is a sophisticated and remarkably compact recessed ceiling light designed specifically for marine applications. Its warm white illumination and highly polished stainless steel frame create an elegant and inviting ambiance on board.
A key feature of the Stella series is its exceptionally low installation depth. Measuring only 18 mm deep with a hole diameter of 52 mm, the Stella Downlight offers a streamlined installation process. The spring-loaded mounting system ensures effortless, tool-free installation.
As a modern replacement for the popular Båtsystem NOVA downlight, the Stella Downlight boasts superior quality, water resistance (IP 65), and exceptional color rendition (CRI 95), rivaling the performance of halogen or sunlight. The discreet LED dots provide a uniformly diffused light that is approximately 40% brighter than the NOVA (200 lumens) while maintaining a low power consumption of 2W. The warm white light (3000K) spreads evenly throughout the cabin, creating a soft, shadow-free atmosphere.
With an outer diameter that perfectly matches the footprint of the NOVA (78 mm), the Stella Downlight is an ideal upgrade for those seeking a more contemporary design, brighter illumination, or enhanced color accuracy. Its flush-mounted design seamlessly integrates into the ceiling while adding only 8 mm to the overall depth.
The Stella Downlight can be easily combined with other ceiling lights from the Stella series, such as the Stella Tilt or Stella Honeycomb.
Technically, the lights operate on a passive 12V system, ensuring silent operation and eliminating the risk of interference with onboard radio or electronic equipment.
Tips
In order to ensure a long lifespan of 25,000 hours, a DC/DC voltage stabilizer is highly recommended for LED lights. Our own 72W stabilizer provides a stable 12V supply for up to 36 Stella Downlights. For boats requiring more than 72W per light circuit, consider a larger stabilizer from an electronic supplier like Victron (their 240W fanless stabilizer is a popular choice). It's recommended to install the stabilizer at the power distribution panel for all onboard LED lights.
Given the brightness of Stella Downlights, a dimmer is advisable. Popular dimmer options include the fixed-installed BD1206 (for up to 12 Stella Downlights), the BD1208 (for more than 12 lights), and the remotely controlled BD1210 (for up to 50 Stella Downlights). Note that the BD1206 already includes a built-in voltage stabilizer, making it a convenient choice if you prefer to avoid installing a central stabilizer.
To create your ideal ambient lighting, combine Stella Downlights with Stella Tilt and Stella Honeycomb.
